Money conversation starters for you and your family

Talk about money around the dinner table with our short but thought-provoking questions for all ages

During Anti-Poverty Week, we want to encourage you to take action about your financial situation. Whether you need help with an immediate crisis or financial hardship – or would like to give yourself confidence to avoid crises, The Salvation Army is here for you.

Our theme for Anti-Poverty Week this year is ‘Money talks: The conversations we need to have’. With this in mind, The Salvation Army has produced five conversation cards for you to start a conversation with your family around the dinner table during Anti-Poverty Week (or beyond).

Each day covers a different topic such as savings, money management and poverty. They are suitable for all ages, with some questions specifically appropriate for children, as we believe it’s important to establish a healthy money mindset from a young age.

You can find more helpful tips in our free online course, You’re the Boss. This award-winning, financial-skill-building program will empower you with information so you can feel more confident about managing your money.
