About
The Salvation Army is committed to providing a safe worship, program and activity environment for all people, and is committed to protecting children, young and vulnerable people from abuse. Unfortunately, The Salvation Army is no stranger to abuse and understands the profound emotional and spiritual damage that results from abuse.
The Salvation Army will not tolerate or condone abuse of any kind within any of its operations or by any person working under or in the name of The Salvation Army.
The Territorial Professional Standards Unit exists to ensure The Salvation Army policy, procedure and behaviour in ministry and service provision provides the maximum protection for those we serve from all forms of abuse.
The purpose of the Unit is two-fold:
- To facilitate appropriate review, investigation and resolution of allegations of abuse by Officers, soldiers, adherents, employees and volunteers of The Salvation Army.
- To establish clear policy and procedure, and provision of tools, training and resources to create the safest environment possible for those involved in Salvation Army ministry and service provision.
