Street Ministry

In August 2012 The Salvation Army “Street Crew” ministry was launched in Albury.

This ministry involves teams of three people who spend a couple of hours of a Friday evening, walking through the centre of the city, speaking with people on the street and business owners, handing out “Red Frogs”, “Minties” and bottled water.

Our intent is to add a further dimension to late night pedestrian traffic and help to foster a safer and more positive atmosphere during the dark hours, says Lieutenant Rod Parsons.

The “Street Crew” has become an integral part of Salvation Army operations and is something that is both cherished by the Salvationists who take part and the people who frequent Albury of a Friday evening.
