Milton

The Salvation Army “opened fire” in Milton on 21 August 1886, under the leadership of Captain Eva Meale. Philanthropist and Salvationist William Samuel Garrard is credited as erecting Milton’s first Salvation Army hall, which was officially opened in February 1900. Pictured above is the Milton Salvation Army on the day of the Hall’s opening. W.S Garrard is the man with the white beard in the back row.
