Making music

Grenfell Salvation Army Band 1931The Salvation Army in Grenfell has a long musical history. Pictured is the band (above) and songster brigade (below) in 1931. The band used to march down Grenfell’s main street regularly, alerting townsfolk to an imminent open-air meeting, or inviting people back to the hall for worship. Today, Grenfell Salvation Army’s music is more modern, with contemporary worship songs played during Sunday meetings.
