In times of need
It’s often said that The Salvation Army has a ministry of “presence” – of being there in times of need. When the Queanbeyan Dam overflowed and caused flooding in 1978, The Salvation Army rushed its large emergency services catering truck, “Big Red” to the scene. Meals, snacks and beverages were served to those affected for three days and the local Salvation Army continued to support those in recovery for the weeks and months that followed.
