Emerald History
The Salvation Army “opened fire” in Emerald in 1898, but just two years later it had closed, for reasons unknown. It re-opened in 1906 but closed again in 1918. Despite the patchy start, The Salvation Army persevered in Emerald and the surrounding areas and is today a vibrant expression of God’s love in the area.
