Our supporters in Gladstone
The community of Gladstone has always been a huge support to The Salvation Army. In 1970, Gladstone Salvation Army received $35,000 legacy from the estate of Arthur Hulme, which allowed it to move and rebuild its premises. Gladstone locals continue to give generously year after year to The Salvation Army’s Red Shield and Christmas appeals to further the work of the Army in the local community and across Australia. And local businesses are also supportive, with many petrol stations donating a certain amount of cents per litre for the Red Shield Appeal over the years – a unique fundraising initiative stated in 1989 by Tony Warwick of Hanson Road Caltex. Puma Energy (Jono Voss) supplies all fuel for Salvation Army vehicles and recently Reef City Motors donated a ute for our Salvation Army Emergency Services team, which they fully maintain. Thank you Gladstone!
