Auburn History

The Salvation Army began in Auburn with meetings held on the street and in a shop-front, but it quickly grew in number and was soon filling its citadel in Mary Street.

The Salvation Army was opened in Auburn on 6 September 1891, with the first meeting held in a shopfront.
