Supporting Bathurst's Battlers - women in need

Two ladies huggingThe Salvation Army also offered assistance to homeless and pregnant women through the Ebenezer Maternity and Rescue Home in Bathurst, which opened in 1897. It operated from a site in Piper Street for seven years before being re-located to Durham Street. The Ebenezer Maternity and Rescue Home provided accommodation and care for homeless women and girls as well as maternity care.
