Browne street buildingThe Salvation Army moved around in Campbelltown, before setting its roots down at its current site on Rudd Road. In 1961, it purchased its first block of land on Browne Street, Rudd road buildingbut continued to hold meetings in the local Masonic Hall. Ten years later when a full-time Salvation Army officer was appointed to work in Campbelltown, the Browne St house was renovated and it served as the Officers Quarters. A new building was built on the Browne St site in 1979 and officially opened on 1 September (pictured top right.) Now, The Salvation Army is located on Rudd Road in Leumeah which opened in 1991 (pictured right). Welfare services are also available from this site, as well as Salvos Counselling, a low-cost professional counselling service and Moneycare Financial Counselling. A Salvation Army Family Store, providing the community with low-cost furniture and clothing, is located on Badgally Road, Campbelltown. Campbelltown Salvation Army also hosts a vibrant home league (women’s group), and a well-attended Playgroup and Kids Club.
