In times of need

It’s often said that The Salvation Army has a ministry of “presence” – of  being there in times of need. During the early floods, people were housed in The Salvation Army Hall and during the influenza epidemic of 1919 a corps (church) history says that the Army was heavily involved. More recently, in 2012, The Salvation Army in Forbes was at the forefront of emergency assistance during some of the worst flooding in more than 150 years which hit part of south-east Australia, including Forbes.
