In May 1981, The Salvation Army formally commenced operations in Parkes. Today, it remains a vibrant ministry to the community.

Early beginnings

The Salvation Army made several attempts to establish itself in Parkes in the late 1800s but without success. Finally, in May of 1891, the Parkes Salvation Army was formally commenced.
