In times of need
It’s often said that The Salvation Army has a ministry of “presence” – of being there in times of need. When bushfires raged through the district in November 1939, The Salvation Army provided welfare relief for those affected. The local Salvation Army has continued to support people affected by disaster. In November 1981, an emergency catering trailer was donated by the Bowral-Mittagong Rotary Club and a Salvation Army Emergency Services team is still operational in the Southern Highlands, trained and ready to respond to any incidents.
