The Salvation Army in Tuggerah Lakes

The Toukley Salvation Army (now named  Tuggerah Lakes Salvation Army) began as an outpost of the Swansea Salvation Army in 1976. It became a Salvation Army Corps (church) in its own right in 1981, under the command of Brigadier and Mrs Kelvin Dickey (retired.)

Today, the Tuggerah Lakes Salvation runs a range of programs for all ages. Children and Youth groups operate weekly, as does CAMEO - Come and Meet Each Other - a friendship group for women. Our men’s group, M.O.A (Men of Armour) meets regularly and there is also a G.T.O (Girls Time Out) group that meets monthly. A range of seniors ministries are also active, with monthly meetings and regular outings.  A popular and highly successful music therapy group operates every Wednesday during school terms. And a support group for grandparents who are full-time carers of their children or grandchildren meets weekly, providing a safe environment for friendship and support. For those into fitness, a weekly “bootcamp” at Tuggerah Lakes Salvation Army brings into practice a healthy balance of physical, spiritual and emotional health.

There’s something for everyone at The Salvation Army Tuggerah Lakes, says Tuggerah Lakes Salvation Army Officer, Sean Everitt.
