Making music

The Salvation Army has a strong history of musical excellence in Ballina. The earliest photo of the Ballina Salvation Army band dates back to about 1912 and the history book records the band being involved in street marches and open-air meetings. In 1923 a Young People’s Band was formed to much excitement within the congregation. Although a traditional brass band is no longer in operation at Ballina, our musical heritage lives on, with a modern band leading the congregation in worship every Sunday.
