In times of need - drought

A happy exchange between a servant and a farmerMore recently, it’s been drought that has crippled the farming community. Earlier this year, through The Salvation Army’s drought appeal, Casino Salvation Army officers, Captains David and Meryl Cook (right) were able to distribute food relief and cash-cards to struggling farmers. There were some really serious emotional and psychological issues that the farmers were confronted with, brought on by their inability to run the farms properly because there was just no water and they were unable to grow the pasture, says Captain David Cook. My heart ached … the farmers really did need some material support – serious material support. The Cooks continue to support the local community and surrounding property-owners through visitation, practical, emotional and welfare support.
