In times of need - flooding

It’s often said that The Salvation Army has a ministry of “presence” – of being there in times of need. Casino Salvationists have always gone out of their way to support people in need – both in the community and far beyond. In 1945, when floods devastated nearby Lismore, Casino Salvation Army swung into action. In her book, Booth’s Drum: The Salvation Army in Australia 1880-1980, Barbara Bolton writes: Captain F. Clark, of Casino, collected vegetables, cash and 1800 garments, to relieve the Lismore situation.
