Ministries through time

Grafton Life Saving GuardsThe Salvation Army in Grafton has always sought to serve the needs of the local community. Over the years it has fostered a vibrant young people’s ministry, hosting picnics, running singing companies and Life Saving Guards groups (pictured right.) Today, Grafton Salvation Army runs a number of children’s programs, including “Junior Musos” and a new “Just Brass” program (pictured right), which offers free band tuition to local children and young people. Some kids out there just haven't really found anything to fit into and we can help by just giving them a bit of extra direction, says Grafton Salvation Army officer, Major Colin Young. Music is an integral part of who I am. I love to be able to share that music. A lot of people will tell you the advantages of being involved in music – it’s a life skill.
