Army buildings in Lismore

1935 Lismore Salvation ArmyIn 1908, the first Salvation Army Hall in Magellan Street was opened, but by the 1930s a bigger one was needed. In 1935, a new citadel was opened. In 1965, when The Salvation Army’s Youth Hall burned down, the Salvos began fundraising immediately to build a new one. With the generous support of the community behind it, the dream became a reality in 1973, with the opening of a new Youth Centre. The current citadel located in Cambridge Drive, Goonellabah, was opened in 1997.
