Christianity with its sleeves rolled up

The Salvation Army has always been known for its practical demonstration of God’s love. The Lismore Salvation Army Home League (women’s group) began in 1917 and has helped the city in a variety of ways, including providing assistance in the travelling clinic for X-rays, fundraising for various causes, and ministering to many local families in need. In 1925, the Lismore Salvation Army history book notes that the Home League helped in a distressing case at Lismore Hospital, helping a mother and her children when the father was hospitalised. Today, the Lismore Salvation Army are still known for coming alongside people in need.

Salvos Connect operates every Tuesday and Friday to provide welfare assistance and a low-cost Family Store provides household items at affordable prices. Lismore Salvos are always on the lookout for opportunities to reach out to others and provide hope.
