Rural Ministry today

Peter & Jean RidleyMajors Peter and Jean Ridley are The Salvation Army’s rural chaplains for north NSW. Peter says: Having supported NSW farmers for the past 10 years, we know that rural communities go through times of plenty, and times of need. We support farming communities in times of crisis and well beyond … and from what we can see, the needs are increasing. Jean says: Many times the farmer will be wringing his hands wondering where is he going to get enough money to feed his family the next meal, and we turn up, with a box of groceries or a food voucher. We’ve been able to intervene in different areas, like the farmer’s been battling on his own to put the fences up and Peter’s got alongside of him and helped him.
