Expansion

Not content to rest on their laurels, Salvationists in Port Macquarie moved quickly to take new ground. Soon an outpost was established at Wauchope, Blackmans Point and another at Hamilton’s Mill. An outpost in Kendall (pictured right) and Laurieton followed. By 1898 the intrepid Port Macquarie Salvos had added outposts in Kew and Beachwood. Today, these ministries no longer remain, however, The Salvation Army in Port Macquarie maintains a Family Store in Wauchope which offers low-cost clothing and household goods, as well as emergency assistance when required.
