Salvation Families of Tenterfield

The Salvation Army in  Tenterfield has produced its fair share of outstanding Salvationists.

The Dearden family were some of the Salvos’ early recruits and many of this clan decided to become Salvation Army officers, serving in a variety of positions across Australia. The Evenis family followed suit, with one grandchild a prominent Salvation Army officer in China. And the Hoskin family of “Vineland” is remembered fondly, particularly Grannie Hoskin, a remarkable Salvationist who was converted when Captain Rundle first “opened fire” in the town.
