The Salvation Army in Brisbane city today
The Salvation Army remains a vibrant expression of God’s love in Brisbane city today, recently celebrating its 130th anniversary.
Sunday services are held at the Brisbane City Temple and God’s Sports Arena. Brisbane Streetlevel Mission meets for worship and fellowship on Thursday nights.
People in need can access help by calling our Salvos Connect line – 1300 371 288 – and they will be assessed and connected with one of our nearby centres. The Salvation Army’s free financial counselling service, Moneycare, is also available, and low-cost clothing, household goods and furniture can be obtained at Salvation Army Family Stores and Salvos Stores in the city.
The Salvation Army in Brisbane also provides help for those in addiction at its Brisbane Recovery Services Centre (Moonyah) in Red Hill, and men’s and women’s homelessness accommodation and support is available at Pindari Services.
Young people in need can access alternative schooling, homeless youth support and counselling at The Salvation Army’s Youth Outreach Service (YOS) in Fortitude Valley, nearby free community meals are offered at Streetlevel Mission. Our Salvation Army officers, personnel and volunteers are also on hand in prisons, at courts and during emergencies to support those in need.
