The Salvation Army in Fassifern today

In 2014, the local Salvation Army corps (churches) of Boonah and Kalbar came together as the “Fassifern Corps” and so The Salvation Army remains a vibrant presence in the Fassifern community today, providing weekly Sunday worship services.

People in need can access welfare support through Salvos Connect and low-cost clothing and household goods at the Fassifern Salvation Army Family Store, both located at The Hope Centre in Boonah.

Regular activities are held in both Boonah and Kalbar, with a very active Silver Threads group for retirees and ‘GIGGLES’ (Girls in God Growing Loving Eating Sharing) in Kalbar and a women’s Home League in Boonah. Bibles studies, Kid’s Church and SAGALA (children and young people’s groups) also run weekly.

We invite anyone from the community to pop in and have a cuppa and a chat, says Salvation Army officer Lieutenant Sue McIver. There’s something for everyone at the Salvos!
