The Eva Burrows Connection
The second woman general of The Salvation Army, Eva Burrows remembers attending the Jubilee (50th Anniversary Celebrations) of Gympie Salvation Army in 1936, when she lived in Gympie as a small child.
In writing to the Gympie Corps in a letter dated 2 September 1985, the then Commissioner Eva Burrows said:
For your interest my father was the corps officer at Gympie when the 50th celebrations were held in 1936. I was only a small child, but I remember the event well. I was especially fond in those days of my primary teacher whose name was Eva Coe. We all loved her very much and she kept contact with our family right up till the time of her promotion to glory (death).
