Local artist wins for Salvo doll

In 1997 local Hervey Bay artist Elizabeth Hersey  won two prizes at the Brisbane Winter Wonderland Doll and Teddy Bear show for a doll she created to look like a Salvation Army officer. Modelled on a Salvation Army Major, complete with hearing aid and copies of The Salvation Army’s War Cry newspaper, she hand-sewed the doll’s uniform and sculpted its hands, shoes and head from Modelene.
