Breakfast connections at Inala

Last year, in response to the needs of the community, the Inala Salvation Army decided to change its Sunday morning church service to a community breakfast. Almost 70 people attended the first breakfast on 22 June. This has grown and now between 90 and 100 people come to Breakfast Connections every week.

This is pioneering work for The Salvation Army, says Captain Lincoln Stevens who, with his wife, Captain Leanne Stevens, are the Salvation Army Officers at Inala.

We are aiming to give people a really good meal, but we also want to get to know them, become their friends and create a sense of community and belonging with people they can trust.

Many people who have started coming to Breakfast Connections are now involved with other Salvation Army activities during the week.
