Lockyer Valley - an amalgamation

The Lockyer Valley Salvation Army began as a number of separate Salvation Army ministries in the south-eastern Queensland towns of Laidley (established 1888), Helidon (established 1906) and Gatton. Both Laidley and Helidon Salvation Army were disbanded in 1973 to form the Gatton Circle Corps which was the forerunner to the present-day Lockyer Valley Salvation Army. The Salvation Army continues in Laidley as an outpost, worked by officers from Gatton.
