Our home in Nambour
In the late 1800s, the sugar cane industry around Nambour was thriving and the area was experiencing rapid growth.
The Salvation Army committed to building its own citadel and on 19 September 1896 the citadel in Mitchell Street, Nambour, was officially opened. In 1914, a new hall was opened opposite the courthouse in Nambour.
In 1960, The Salvation Army opened a new citadel which served until a new Salvation Army centre opened last year, featuring a purpose-built worship complex, upgraded family store, administration and welfare offices, Employment Plus facilities and underground parking.
