The first stand

The Pine Rivers Salvation Army dates back a long way, to 1890 in fact, when Lieutenant John Carless was the first officer officially appointed to begin work in the area which was then called Strathpine. Salvation Army ministry has been known at various times as “North Pine”, “Samson Vale” and “Terror’s Creek”. The Strathpine Salvation Army didn’t last though – closing in 1917.
