Redcliffe Greats - Commissioner Ian Cutmore

The Salvation Army in Redcliffe has hosted its fair share of outstanding Salvationists.

Commissioner Ian Cutmore (pictured left, and with wife, Nancy, right) was the founding officer of Redcliffe Salvation Army in 1954, as a young Lieutenant straight out of training college.

He went on to be one of two officers who started the work of The Salvation Army in Papua New Guinea. The Papua New Guinea Salvation Army was attached to the Australia Eastern Territory for 38 years before it became independent. Ian Cutmore served for many years in PNG, before taking on a variety of other roles in The Salvation Army, rising as high as the rank of Commissioner.
