Cooks River Classics - Mrs Darke

The Salvation Army in the Cooks River area has produced its fair share of outstanding Salvationists. Dulwich Hill Salvation Army soldier of 48 years, Mrs Darke (pictured right) spent countless hours fundraising for the Army’s internal Self Denial Appeal which raises money for Salvationists working in developing countries. This photo shows her sorting waste paper, which she then sold. She would sit at the railway station most days to collect papers to sort and sell.
