The Salvation Army Earlwood

The Salvation Army in Earlwood began as an outpost of the Campsie Salvation Army but officially opened in its own right in 1929 under the leadership of Captain Hope Menzies, assisted by Captain May Mackie.

The earliest meetings were held in Kennedy’s Hall (address unknown.) In 1933, The Salvation Army opened its own hall (pictured right.) In 1973, this citadel was demolished to make way for a new Salvation Army hall that remains the centre of the Army’s ministry in Earlwood today.
