Our work in Engadine
A Salvation Army hall was opened in Cambria Avenue, Engadine, in 1968. Two retired Salvation Army officers, Brigadier Norman and Mrs Hazel Woodbury became its leaders.
They were both very hard workers and had tremendous drive. They made themselves available to the people of Engadine, offering both spiritual and practical help to those they met.
In 1970, when they retired for a second time, The Salvation Army was flourishing in Engadine, with 90 children attending the weekly Sunday School.
The Salvation Army no longer has Sunday services at Engadine, but maintains a presence in the town with a Family Store on Station Street.
