Our work in Miranda
A new weatherboard hall was opened in Kiora Road, Miranda, on 8 June 1957 by the leader of The Salvation Army in eastern Australia, Commissioner Edgar Grinstead.
Over the years, The Salvation Army in the Sutherland Shire grew in numbers and a new brick hall with seating for about 120 people was built on the Kiora Road site in 1969.
Today, The Salvation Army in Miranda remains at the centrally located Kiora Road site, in an upgraded premises. The Salvation Army in Miranda is led by Lieutenants Brad and Joycelyn McIver and offers a range of programs from its Kiora Road centre, including the Moneycare free financial counselling service, weekly men’s, women’s and children's groups, The Salvation Army’s Positive Lifestyle Program, the Inspired Avenue hip-hop dancing program and of course, weekly Sunday worship services.
