Our home in Sydney City

The first Salvation Army meetings were held in the Protestant Hall on Castlereagh Street. Pictured right is a sketch of the first Sydney barracks in 1884, in Goulburn Street. This was replaced in 1912 with a new building, to house the now-called Sydney Congress Hall. Sydney Congress Hall finally settled into its current location at 140 Elizabeth Street in 1928. Today, Sydney Congress Hall is home to a variety of ministries including men’s, women’s, youth and children’s groups, outreach ministry to Sydney’s homeless, an addiction relapse-prevention program, several music groups and much more.
