From the street to the cafe

While the Wollongong Salvation Army began on the city’s streets, with marches and open-air meetings, today’s Illawarra Salvos can be found running playgroups or working as baristas!

In Port Kembla, The Salvation Army recently opened The Foundry – a training coffee shop and church that provides on-the-job training whilst serving great food and coffee to clientele. Sunday cafe-church is held weekly.

Today, The Salvation Army across the Illawarra region is a vibrant expression of God’s love. From playgroups, to cafe-church, to recovery services, to support groups, the Salvos offer a range of programs and assistance to cater for all needs.
