In 2005 the then Ballarat Corps and Ballarat Family Support Services came together in the facility at Eureka Street. The hope was that the disconnection between the worshipping and social aspects of The Salvation Army could be reversed, and over the years that has definitely happened. In 2008 we became The Salvation Army Ballarat Community Church as an acknowledgement that we had become one expression of The Salvation Army with the exciting ministry of meeting the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of the Ballarat community.
Captain Graham Kennedy leads Ballarat Community Church as minister and site manager. We have the fantastic support of incredible staff, along with an amazing group of leaders and volunteers. Every week we engage with the community through food assistance, case management, money care financial advice, op shops, a men’s shed, a donation only café, and Sunday worship service.
As a church we actively engage in living the Vision of The Salvation Army in Australia.
Wherever there is hardship or injustice
Salvos will live, love and fight
alongside others
to transform Australia one life at a time
with the love of Jesus.
