Our Chinese Ministries Corps Officer
Captain Winnie Ng 龐淑華上尉
Winnie was born in Hong Kong, Cantonese is her first language. She has been learning to speak Mandarin as she is keen to connect to more people from China. Coming to Brisbane represents a new adventure as Sydney has been her home for nearly 30 years. Winnie has two adult sons, one lives in Sydney and the other in Broken Hill. Winnie likes swimming and exploring new places in her spare time.
Being commissioned in December 2013 as Salvation Army Officer, Winnie’s first appointment was at Chatswood, Sydney North Shore. Her current role in Calamvale Corps is Corps Officer in Chinese ministries.
Calamvale and its surrounding suburbs have high percentages of people born overseas, with China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, being some top locations. Therefore, Winnie hopes to see the demography of our community church moving to reflect the demography of our community.
Her hope and dreams are many people come to know God and experience the wonderful saving grace of Jesus. As described in Revelation 7, God’s kingdom consists of a vast crowd from every nation, tribe, people and language gathering before the throne of God and the Lamb. We seek guidance from the Spirit of God in finding way to better embrace the diversity in our community.
