Emergency Relief

The Salvation Army Australia wide is well-known for assistance provided for people in the community who are finding it difficult to make ends meet, and here at Camberwell Salvos we are no different.

Doorways Community Support is the entryway through which those experiencing hardship and/or disadvantage can take proactive steps to find the support they need to overcome life's challenges and find long-term solutions.

Deciding to create change is for some, the hardest step. By opening that one door, individuals are supported to see many more doors opening before them as they journey towards stability, independence and a life transformed.

Our 'no wrong door' philosophy means that if someone needs help, no matter what Salvos service they come to for assistance, we'll help them find a specific pathway for their needs.

We offer a range of services from emergency relief to case management and more.

If you require financial assistance to support you through a crisis, please call the Salvos Phone Assistance Line on (03) 8873 5288. This phone line operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.  Any financial assistance will be based on the outcome of an assessment.

For emergency food relief our Doorways team are on hand at the following times:

When: Monday, Wednesday & Friday (except public holidays)
When: 9:30am to 12:30pm

No financial assistance interviews will be conducted from our local site. Community members presenting to Camberwell Salvos will be invited to contact Salvos PAL on (03) 8873 5288.
