There are people in need. This region, this year, is not the exception. In fact, this year the hardship increased.
In the western suburbs of Brisbane we are seeing people needing assistance who have never needed it before. People with medical illness that can't work and afford rent. People with jobs that can't find a place to rent. Growing numbers of people living in their cars who have never been homeless before. Parents who don't send their kids to school because they can't afford the uniform and stationary.
We can make a difference by supporting people with daily living costs. We can make a difference by helping people find housing. We can make a difference by contributing to the costs of schooling. We do make a difference by having an Army of people who are here ready to help.
But we can do more.
