This Red Shield Appeal, please help the Salvos give a mother a way back into a life of hope.
Today alone, domestic and family violence will force 67 Australian women out of their homes, and into homelessness.
Sadly, it will happen again tomorrow, and every other day of the year.
The 2022 Red Shield Appeal is dedicated to helping women suffering through fear and loneliness, pushed out of society into homelessness.
And it’s why generous and caring people like you are so important, as we raise the funds needed to give women safety, and way back into a life of hope.
For Gemma, she suffered through a long Covid-19 lockdown, as her partner became increasingly violent.
She says seeing the man she once loved turn into a monster, was heart-breaking:
“I lost my best friend. I desperately wanted to keep my
family together, but the violence only got worse.”
Fearing for her and baby Lily’s life, Gemma packed what she could fit in her car and escaped.
Yet, women and children made homeless from violence often have nowhere to go. They move around where they can, but often sleep in a car, or even on dangerous streets.
People like Gemma desperately need the safety, stability and hope you can give through the Red Shield Appeal today.
From homelessness to hope, please give someone a way back in.
