Helping those in need
A 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Vanuatu on 17 December killing 12 people, followed by a second 6.1 magnitude tremor on 22 December. Over 80,000 people have been affected and the death toll is expected to rise. Hospitals are overwhelmed and the infrastructure is severely affected with limited access to clean water, so waterborne diseases are likely to spread.
We know that in times of trouble we can count on God. As Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble”. And you can help too.
You can give to help The Salvation Army in Vanuatu care for those who have been displaced and are living in evacuation centres or with host families. You will be helping to provide aid such as fresh water, food, medical supplies and shelter as needed.
On behalf of those you are helping, thank you for your generous support.
NB: Gifts over $2 are tax-deductible. If project is oversubscribed, additional funds will be directed where most needed.
