Too many older people like Graham have nowhere to go.
They are alone in their homes, or even homeless and in real danger from isolation, the cold, illness, and even abuse.
This winter it’s vital we care for the most vulnerable people in our community
And with power prices, rents and even the cost of groceries continuing to go up, we’re meeting hundreds of older Australians needing help for the first time. In fact, there has been a 16% increase over the last 5 years.
Graham is one of those people. He’s been through a lot in his life. A cyclone. A brutal bushfire. The breakdown of his marriage, and the loss of the people he loved most in life.
Graham even survived cancer.
It was only when it came time to leave hospital after his last chemo treatment, that Graham realised he had nowhere to go.
Older Australians like him who are alone and have no one to care for them or don’t know where to go for help are at serious risk.
They urgently needed our help. Your help.
