Being connected to our community
Being a part of Emergency Services is a privilege and an honour to serve the community in difficult circumstances. At times it might be showing up and taking the time to pray over the situation. It’s not only about the tea and coffee, it’s also about a friendly face and someone to chat with who’s not related to the incident.
It gives response personnel a chance to walk away from the incident, especially when they’re getting tired or stress levels are rising, it’s a space to take off their helmet or PPE gear, relax, have a cuppa and switch off for a few minutes.
