A relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation, inspiration and driving force of The Salvation Army.
Our DNA is summed up in our ministry philosophy 'heart to God, hand to others'. A Relationship with God comes first and the rest follows. Our history has been forged not only through social services but through the radical transformation that can happen in a person's heart when they meet Jesus for the first time. It's this experience that transformed criminals, addicts and prostitutes from the slums of London into missionaries and leaders who led the charge of the early Salvation Army during the 19th Century. Without the transforming work of Jesus, The Salvation Army wouldn't exist.
