Generous Culture

“The Generous Culture team exists to enable a culture of generosity to be unleashed throughout all TSA faith communities. We offer coaching and mentoring to faith communities, on the topics of stewardship, giving and generosity. We provide data and reports to support faith communities to monitor giving at a local level.”

Generous Culture focuses on corps and how they are travelling when it comes to generosity - individually and as a congregation.

The Generous Culture Team provide coaching and mentoring which includes assessing current situation in mission, ministry, giving and the overall culture of generosity. It is an opportunity to seriously look at where the corps is and where it needs to be. Corps leadership teams play a very important role in this process.

Previously The Salvation Army in this Territory had what we call Planned Giving. Generous Culture acknowledges everything that has gone before but has evolved to the next level.

This describes how we have evolved:

PLANNED GIVING

From:

GENEROUS CULTURE

To:

Program  Development
Directed Coached
Structured Framework
Inflexible Flexible
Non-negotiables Corps need focused
Tight time frame Locally determined time frame
Finance focus Generosity focused - holistically
Lay leadership Local leadership
Headquarters owned Corps owned
Raising funds Culture of Generosity
Transaction Transformation

This is an exciting journey and we look forward to seeing what God has in store as we all become more generous.

What is Generous Culture Coaching?

Rather than directing we are about listening to the needs of the individual corps and supporting the Corps Officer/s and Leadership as they discover where the corps is and where it needs to be, and how to get there.

Coaching is very much self directed because we believe that the answer lies within the life and experience of the corps. Coaching uses various tools to help the answers come out.
