Larapinta 2016
Our trekkers have recently returned from the 2016 Larapinta journey.
This seven day adventure commenced in Alice Springs and included five days of trekking through the West MacDonnell Ranges.
The walk took in breathtaking views from Euro Ridge, the famous Simpsons Gap and the spectacular Serpentine Gorge. Trekkers also swam in the cool waters of Ormiston Gorge, Hugh River, the majestic Orimston Pond and the Finke River - one of the oldest river systems in the world. The highlight for many was a pre-dawn hike to the top of Mount Sonder, NT’s third highest peak to view a spectacular 360 degree sunrise.
Together we raised over $76,000 for The Oasis Youth Support Network to help young people who are at risk of, or are, experiencing homelessness.
What our trekkers said
“Fantastic scenery, an incredible sense of comradery among the group, magnificent support for one another, sitting around the camp fire was another highlight …”
“The most rewarding thing that I have ever done.”
“To raise funds for The Salvation Army was a bonus”
“[It was] a great experience for both individuals and corporate groups with many positive outcomes.”
